The MS Wissenschaft is anchored in Hamburg at the Sandtorhafen from 12th to 16th of June!

Are our choices free? What can we history teach us about freedom? How far does artistic freedom extend? And what does the use of artificial intelligence mean for our freedom? The exhibition on the MS Wissenschaft takes a close look at these and other questions in the Science Year 2024 - Freedom.

Around 30 interactive exhibits invite visitors to explore various facets of freedom: Visitors can become brain researchers and find out how free their decisions really are. Or they can play a game of pinball to find out how genetic and social factors influence certain areas of life. Those interested in current issues surrounding freedom of expression on social media can test the impact of new EU rules to curb hate online. A driving simulator allows visitors to test different levels of autonomous driving. And they can test their knowledge in a quiz on the history of the concept of freedom from the Middle Ages to the present day.

The exhibits come from various scientific disciplines and illustrate the diversity of research on the subject of freedom. In addition, there is a varied program of events and school workshops at many tour locations. The exhibition is recommended for ages twelve and up.
