Arthouse cinemas in Hamburg

Cinema a different way for once. Our recommendations.

In one hand your ticket stub, in the other a bag full of popcorn... Let yourself slide comfortably into the red velvet armchairs - that's cinema! Looking forward to the latest cinema hit, staring at the big screen and waiting until the rustle of popcorn stops and everyone has turned off their mobiles. But cinema in Hamburg also works differently. If you like it more quiet and private, you can watch the latest films in Hamburg in cosy, small cinemas with a living room atmosphere.

Anyone considering a visit to the Hamburg State Opera could also feel at home in the Metropolis Kino. The arthouse cinema in the small Theaterstraße next to the State Opera House does justice to the high expectations of the audience next door. With its upper tier, the cinema hall resembles a theatre.
