Pleinair
- Exhibition
Silke Schröder studied illustration at the Design Department of the Hamburg University of Applied Arts with Almut Heise and Hinnerk Bodendiek. During her studies, her interest in plein air painting developed. In the foreword to the exhibition catalogue, Hinnerk Bodendiek writes: “After all, the North German Realists have been cultivating plein air painting for decades, a group of stalwarts who have recognized the value of this truly wonderful experience and also that it can lead to results that... the tranquility of the studio, with the help of photos and with seemingly endless time available, are hard to come by. Silke Schröder already knew about this during her studies.
Today, their perseverance, their skills and their love of light have made the images we see here possible.”
