Ivana rámková: Magical Menagerie made of Glass
- Exhibition
We would like to delight our audience with Ivana rámková's glass art from May 12, 2024. A square little pig grunts, a naturalistic crocodile laughs. Or colorful birds flutter back and forth in an imaginary aviary. The Czech glass artist creates sculptures in which she mostly uses animals and people as motifs. Her figures, made from simple geometric shapes, are reduced to the essentials.
What appeals to Ivana rámková about glass as a material is its transparency. She usually underlines her objects with strong colors, such as bright red.
Born in Liberec, Czech Republic in 1960, the artist attended the well-known glass school in elezný Brod. She then continued her training at the Prague Academy of Art, Architecture and Design with the renowned glass artist Stanislav Libenský.
