She is one of Lebanon’s most prominent artists: Abeer Nehme. With her powerful voice, the singer from Tannourine El Tahta takes the stage in Elbphilharmonie Grand Hall as part of the »Lebanon« festival, taking audiences on a musical journey through the cultures of the Middle East. Singing in multiple languages, from Arabic and Aramaic to Armenian, she tells stories of love, homeland and new beginnings. Supported by a 16-piece ensemble and four singers from Lebanon, Syria and Europe, Nehme moves effortlessly between Arabic classical traditions and Western modernity: classical songs alternate with contemporary arrangements, traditional melodies meet orchestral power, and intimate moments unfold alongside sweeping, dramatic soundscapes.
