On the trail of the past
The old town is actually the oldest part of Hamburg and for many tourists the real attraction. The best known are the Chilehaus and the Kontorhäuser at Burchardplatz, but also the Sprinkenhof, Mohlenhof and Meßberghof are popular tourist destinations. The Old Elbe tunnel, however, remains undisputed. The best way to explore the old town is on foot. Numerous city tours take place every day and show you the historical heritage of the Hanseatic City from various points of view.
