On this legendary party square there is a real shooting party atmosphere in the evening. Each of the numerous bars and pubs is packed on weekends.
The Hans-Albers-Platz in Hamburg is named after Hans Albers, a theater, film actor and singer known from radio and television. He celebrated great successes in the last century. Among others with the films "Große Freiheit Nr. 7", "Auf der Reeperbahn nachts um halb eins" and the "Herz von St. Pauli". In 1964, four years after the death of the popular folk actor, Wilhelmsplatz was renamed Hans-Albers-Platz. Sometimes the square is also called "Kleiner Kiez".
Bronze Statue
Since 1986, an almost three meter high bronze Hans-Albers statue of the artist Jörg Immendorff has been standing in the middle of the square. After a dispute with the Hamburg Senate, Immendorf had the sculpture removed from its pedestal after nine years and transported to Düsseldorf. The Senate finally ordered a copy from Immendorff. So the original sculpture is now in the Media Harbour in Düsseldorf and the copy can be viewed today on Hans-Albers-Platz in St. Pauli.
Dancing and drinking near the Reeperbahn
Located directly on Hamburg's Reeperbahn and not far from the Große Freiheit and the Hamburger Berg, the described square is surrounded by pubs and bars. Among other things, the bar La Paloma, named after a film hit by Albers, is located at the corner. In addition, the Hans-Albers-Klause is a place where you can listen to the songs of past decades. Live music is often played in the Molly Malone and the adjacent Drafthouse. In the summer, beer benches line up on the square, in front of the pubs there are many tourists from different countries and the atmosphere is exuberant.

This neighbourhood was named after the actor and singer of the same name and is located directly on the famous Reeperbahn. In the hermitage of the same name, oldies and hits of past decades resound and invite visitors to dance. In the middle of the square there is also a statue of Hans Albers, which was built by the artist Jörg Immendorf. In addition to numerous other pubs, clubs and pubs, there is also the bar La Paloma, which was christened after a film hit by Hans Albers.

The Quer is located at Hans-Albers-Platz eight. This club, which originated from a café, has been around for 16 years. On weekends it counts up to 1,500 party guests on a total of three floors. The music styles here vary from house and electro to classics and current hits. On 500 m² there is also a terrace with 70 seats, where major events such as football matches can be watched on a big screen. Number 16 is home to The Academy Club, an Irish pub with typical Irish charm. On the live stage, national and international bands can generally be cheered on free of charge.
