In the Stockholm Espresso Club in Hamburg, stressed out guests can really relax in a Swedish atmosphere with coffee specialities, cakes, bagels and craft beer.
The Stockholm Espresso Club is, surprisingly, not located in the Swedish capital, but rather in the Hamburg residential district of Winterhude. The coffee served here comes from the Swedish roastery KOPPI and promises the most gently roasting of hand-picked coffee, which has been bought directly from producers around the world.
A little while away from the main traffic artery Mühlenkamp, you can find the two bright, sparsely furnished rooms of the small café. And you notice straight away: the preparation of coffee really is the main thing here. You can order your favourite coffee speciality (€ 2.10 - € 7.50) in three different ways: with the silver blinking and hissing Aeropress, by hand filter – and with an unusual optic with a glass bulb – in a syphon.
There is a great selection of cake and bagels (€ 2.90 - € 7.90) to go with your coffee. But the rest of the menu is also impressive: when you’ve refuelled with enough coffee, you can try one of the unusual craft beers, a very nice wine menu and an illustrious selection of Japanese whiskies.
It can get pretty full and loud on the weekend. Then you can just order your coffee to go and take a walk along the nearby weekly market (Saturdays) at the Goldbekufer. By the way, you can buy all the types of coffee served at the Stockholm Espresso Club for your coffeemaker at home or as a souvenir.
