Wohnzimmerkonzert im Café & Köstlich - Alina Sebastian
- Country & Folk
Alina Sebastian:
The singer, songwriter and producer, who has won the German Rock & Pop Award five times, has developed her own style through influences from pop and country music, which is unique on the German music market. Gentle ballads on the piano, catchy melodies on the guitar or powerful bass - alone or with her band behind her - not only the songwriting, but also the shows are varied and full of energy.
"The singer is able to express exuberant joy of life, but also tragedy and pain with her individual timbre in her voice. Sometimes very restrained, sensitive, almost as if breathed, then again radiantly bright or powerfully haunting." (Lokalplus NRW)
“And how does a young woman in Germany end up doing country music?”
"New Country" is the fusion of strong songwriting and complex guitar riffs with contemporary arrangements and productions from the field of pop music. The genre first became known in Germany at the end of the 90s through Shania Twain, around 10 years later through early Taylor Swift and has developed much further since then. Instead of trying to fulfill ideals and stereotypes, the focus is on the credibility of the artists and current, contemporary topics. "The moment I decided to reveal myself in my music and not want to play a role was the moment I knew - it's New Country. How could it ever be anything else?" www.alinasebastian.de
The album:
When you hear "Eyes of the Highway" you immediately feel like getting into your non-existent vintage Mustang convertible and driving through the Arizona desert (or through Brandenburg) into the sunset. You can literally feel the wind carrying you into the vastness of this world. With "Eyes of the Highway", Alina Sebastian presents her debut album, which will be available on all common streaming and download platforms and in CD form from June 2nd. It contains 11 tracks. "Eyes of the Highway is the result of 2 years of passion and work. The release is particularly exciting for me because the album shows a fairly wide range of my songwriting and is for me the expression of my restlessness, which constantly presents me with challenges but also makes me the person I am." Powerful productions with honest singing, versatile instrumentation and the feeling of freedom, always with a pinch of curiosity - that's what listeners can expect from the songwriter's debut album, which thematically moves between wanderlust, heartache and joy of life.
