Jazz: Between Brad Mehldau and Claude Debussy
On November 7th, Kawai Hamburg will transform Studio Herzlich into a New York-style jazz club. For this evening, Wolf Geisler will take his place at our Shigeru Kawai SK-2—a grand piano renowned for its warm, singing tone and highly responsive action. It is the perfect setting for a pianist whose musical style draws inspiration from the likes of Chick Corea, Michael Wollny, and Brad Mehldau: jazz that embraces improvisation while leaving ample room for delicate, nuanced passages. Wolf Geisler also cites Debussy—and, as a native of Hamburg, Johannes Brahms—among his influences. If you appreciate jazz infused with impressionistic tonal colors and romantic harmonies, look forward to an evening where these genres converge.
We consider Wolf Geisler one of Hamburg’s finest jazz pianists and are delighted to welcome him to Studio Herzlich. Join us for an intimate evening where you can experience his performance from just a few meters away—hearing every touch on the keys—and simply sit back, glass of wine in hand, and let yourself drift away.
