The Danish bassist, composer and bandleader Jesper Thorn combines acoustic instruments with warm electronic sounds on his new album »STILLE«. Sparse, clear melodies and restrained arrangements meet a moving, introspective melancholy, firmly placing his music within the tradition of Scandinavian jazz.
Following »BOY« and »DRAGØR«, Thorn continues to develop his personal and autobiographical musical language. His quintet, made up of long-standing musical companions, complements the complex double bass melodies with piano, trumpet, saxophone and violin, creating a rich yet restrained and deeply satisfying overall sound.
