Breathing indie grooves meet intimate melodies as guitarist and composer Alexander Rueß presents »DEBUT«, his first album as a bandleader. Joined by Luca Curcio on double bass and Sebastian Merk on drums, the trio weaves a soundscape shaped by melodic directness and Nordic intimacy. Personal, clear and always open to discovery.
Their music unfolds through lyrical melodies and driving grooves, occasionally venturing into passages that hint at folk or prog rock influences – never as a dominant feature, but as part of a vibrant European jazz language. Raised in Ostholstein and now ten years into his time in Berlin and Copenhagen, Rueß presents his distinctive musical voice.
»DEBUT« was released by Double Moon Records/Jazzthing »Next Generation« in March 2026, with Nils Landgren appearing as a guest on the album. In recent years, Rueß has performed alongside renowned artists, including with the quartet of GRAMMY Award winner Nicole Zuraitis and jazz singer Atrin Madani. With the Alexander Rueß Trio, he now presents his own music with a clear sense of purpose: open, personal and deeply affecting.
