Herbstwanderung im Gletscherzungental
- Excursions & Hikes
Just in time for the beginning of autumn, geologist and archaeologist Frigga Kruse (Friggas Natour) is offering an approx. 9 km long natural history hike in one of the most beautiful corners of the Aukrug Nature Park. She emphasizes that the Aukrug was created in the penultimate ice age and has been subject to erosion and leveling for 100,000 years. He can no longer boast the drama of the eastern hill country, but anyone who engages with our solid landscape with patience and observation will learn to appreciate it and experience surprises. There was once a glacier in the hollow shape of the Buckener Au, whose moraines we can trace with our finger. Peat extraction in the Viertshöhe Moor bears witness to the limited resources and hard lives of our ancestors. This is evidenced by local legends that Frigga Kruse will tell along the way.
