Faire Lieferketten für den Rohstoffhandel!
- Lectures & Discussions
At the start of the action week, KOSMOS invites you to focus on global supply chains and their transformation potential.
With the narrow approval of the EU-wide supply chain law despite Germany's abstention, an important milestone was reached, which was supported by a broad alliance of civil society, science, business and politics. However, success could only be achieved against massive resistance and after concessions to relevant lobbies.
So where are we? In particular, the extraction of raw materials from countries in the Global South is still associated with significant damage to people and nature in a colonial continuity. There are numerous approaches on how supply chains can be made more transparent and trade relationships more solidarity-based.
How can these approaches contribute to a transformation of global supply chains and to what extent is such a transformation even possible under capitalism? We want to discuss these and other questions together.
