Best of Poetry Slam is when poets and poets, storytellers and proles, the brave and the wild, the nerds and the quiet meet and compete against each other using only words and gestures. The price? Nothing less than adrenaline and applause, euphoria, an audience that decides whether this is nonsense or intoxication, in short: whether this text is perhaps the best story of all time. An audience that is you.
Poetry slam is, above all, the slammers of this republic. The halls fill up, sometimes entire stadiums. They are no longer a niche, they have long been the phenomenon that they always were. They juggle wild ideas, their rhythm a beat of sentences, their stories a fireworks display of vocabulary, they run through ear canals and set heads on fire, each of them racing at 180 on the thought highway. And we bring them to you, the best of them on the stage of Schröder's Garden! Five top poets compete against each other at the BEST OF POETRY SLAM, moderated by the most popular slam presenters, presented by Kampf der Kulturen. These five want nothing less than your head, your ears, your favor. They meet in the toughest competition of the night, the best of the best against the best of the best in a brilliant poetry battle.
And so what stands behind every good competition remains - it's never just about winning, it's about the moment, about a feeling that unites every slam: being part of the magic that comes from stories, being part of the wave that this evening carries with it.
