Altländer Blütenfest – Flower Festival

2nd to 3rd May 2020

After a long time of waiting, the kilometre-long plantations of fruit shine again in a sea of white-pink flowers. Bees are busy with their work, doing a great job by giving the fruit farmers a wonderful harvest.

The Altländer Blütenfest is a special spectacle that fruit lovers should not miss. On the first full weekend of May, the Altländer Flower Queen is traditionally crowned in the near Hamburg and then celebrated with a "Flower Parade". The ceremony is framed by numerous musical processions.

With the double-decker on a round trip through the sea of blossoms in the Altes Land

While the bees are buzzing around in the plantations, visitors can enjoy homemade cakes and juices at the Altländer Blütenfest and in the numerous courtyards, mills and churches. A special experience is the trip with the red double-decker bus. On a one-and-a-half-hour ride you sit high enough to look and marvel at the wide, flowering fields. The trip is accompanied by an Altländer tour guide in historical costume, who will give you a lot of interesting information about the region, fruit growing and traditions.
