One of the most popular viewpoints for the fireworks for the New Year are certainly the Landungsbrücken. There you are directly on the water and have the most beautiful view on New Year's Eve. In addition, you are surrounded by snack bars and kiosks, so against the small hunger and thirst is provided. However, we recommend you to pack some self-catering if possible, if you do not want to throw yourself into the big hustle and bustle. If you show up a little earlier on December 31, you have a good chance of getting a quieter place.

An important note for you: The Landungsbrücken are located down by the water, the U- and S-Bahn station Landungsbrücken is not released New Year's Eve to watch fireworks, but is provided for security reasons with privacy walls. Therefore, arrive early enough to be able to enjoy the fireworks.

Dockland is actually an office building, and its design and parallelogram shape make it look more like a ship's bow. A special feature of the building, however, is the 500-square-meter viewing platform, which you can climb via the 140 steps outside. Once you have reached the top, you have a wonderful view over the port of Hamburg. Since the Dockland is located a little further away from the Landungsbrücken, your chances are good that it is a little quieter.

If you prefer it a little quieter and don't want to stand directly in the crowd, then the Park Fiction is the right spot for you on New Year's Eve. The park is located on Hafenstraße and offers seating so you can make yourself comfortable with snacks and a thermos. Here you are a little further away from the harbor, but still have a great view of the Elbe and the port of Hamburg. In addition, you are not far from the St. Pauli district and the Reeperbahn, if you want to move there after even further.

The Altona Balcony is a bit further away from the Landungsbrücken, but the view still convinces us! About 27 meters above the Elbe is the Altonaer balcony, from here you can let your eyes wander far over the Elbe and look down from above on the port. According to experience, it can be quite crowded here on New Year's Eve, because the panoramic view is a real highlight to the fireworks. However, the atmosphere here is usually much calmer than at the Landungsbrücken.

The fish market should be known to many of you. Traditionally, many party people strand there on Sunday mornings for sunrise and the first fish roll here, the market criers wake up even the last sleepyhead and the Sunday can really start. For the New Year, there is no fish market here, but a great spot to watch fireworks! Directly on the water you can watch the colorful spectacle and the dazzling reflections in the water surface. Good news for those who do not like it so crowded: Usually it is rather quiet here.
