Alsterdorfer Sporthalle

The Sporthalle located at the edge of the Stadtpark is the largest events venue in Hamburg. There are 2,080 fixed seats and extendible stands having a further 1,344 seats. There is also a retractable stand on the south side of the inner area with 720 seats which then gives the Sporthalle 4,144 seats. With concerts with no seating in the inner area, up to 7,000 visitors can be accommodated.

For many years the Sporthalle has not just been used for sporting events such as basketball, volleyball, handball, football and boxing but also exhibitions, festivals and rock and pop concerts. Visitors enter the hall via a 14-metre wide bridge. There is a pleasant atmosphere in the Sporthalle with its shopping stands, vending machines, cloakrooms, display cases and excellent catering facilities.
