The audience is immersed in the multifaceted soundscape of Anatolia and embarks on a musical journey filled with emotions, memories, and traditions. Through carefully selected Turkish folk songs, theTürkische Volksmusik Chor Hamburg e.V. brings the rich culture of Anatolia to life—at times powerful and rousing, at others gentle and moving. The songs speak of love and longing, of home and new beginnings, and forge connections between generations and cultures. The evening is all about music, community, and living culture.
Under the motto »Singing together connects people not only on a musical level—cultivated camaraderie also fosters friendships and strengthens cohesion,« the choir has been active since 2005.
Today, the ensemble consists of around 40 dedicated and passionate singers and musicians from various regions of Turkey as well as other countries. Together, they form the Turkish Folk Music Choir under the direction of Haldun Alay in Hamburg.
