A beat-dance spoken word performance based on Kae Tempest's long poem "Let Them Eat Chaos"

"What shall we do? How do we wake up?... We sleep so soundly, nothing can reach us.... If we don't address it, it won't go away... But tonight is the night of storms..."

Many voices, music, dance, text – one night, one storm, it's 4:18 a.m., torn between fears, longings, and social pressure, they simply can't sleep: people who ask, search, find, recognize, and share. It's an attempt to create something unifying amidst the chaos of the world. Every step we take together brings us closer together.

A theatrical moment about loneliness, longing, community and the question: How much chaos does it take to become human again?

With its new in-house production, the monsun.theater invites you to a festival of empathy and celebrates its 45th anniversary.

The performance rights of the German translation “Sollen sie doch Chaos fressen” (translation: Johanna Davids) of Kae Tempest’s “Let Them Eat Chaos” (rights: Domino Publishing Company Ltd., London) are held by Suhrkamp Theater Verlag, Berlin.

An in-house production by monsun.theater in cooperation with the dance company SZENE 2WEI is supported by the Hamburg Authority for Culture and Media.
