MITTSU Dance

Mittsu: Japanese for the number three, when counting people or objects. This word stands for a new format at the Hamburg Ballet: an evening-length work created by three different artists working in tandem. For this first edition Artistic Director Lloyd Riggins has commissioned three generations of female choreographers: Neshama Nashman, Yuka Oishi, and Kristina Paulin. In collaboration, they will create a unique work inspired by the writer Virginia Woolf, a literary pioneer and early feminist.
