In her solo program, Mareille Merck explores the endless possibilities of the guitar. She uses the freedom of solo playing to break down stylistic boundaries. For example, she combines fingerstyle techniques with typical jazz elements. She captivates with her innovative, independent approach to the instrument, exploring versatile sound facets with great attention to detail and breathing life into the catchy melodies of her compositions with flageolets, open, sometimes unusually tuned strings, or her use of the tremolo bar. Technical skills are by no means an end in themselves – the focus is always on the core of the musical message, which Mareille shapes with her unmistakable sound and weaves together with sonic diversity and precision.
Merck's solo album »Kaleidoskop«, which she produced together with Nik Bärtsch, was released on September 5, 2025. It was met with numerous positive reviews in the press. The album release tour took Merck to Switzerland, Germany, Austria, and Denmark.
