The name Betterov has become an established part of the German music scene. Over the past five years, the musician has built a loyal following with his two albums »OLYMPIA« and »Große Kunst«, as well as several sold-out tours. Now Manuel Bittorf – his real name – is quite literally opening a new chapter: with his debut novel »Goldener Retriever«, he is embarking on a major musical reading tour. Betterov will not only read passages from »Goldener Retriever«, but also perform some of his songs.

With his newly published novel »Goldener Retriever«, Manuel Bittorf shows that he can also tell stories that go far beyond the format of verse. The story follows two young men who set off for West Berlin to escape the East German provinces, full of hope for a better life. Between loss of control and hard concrete, the story develops into a compelling work about friendship, optimism and a fierce determination to go one’s own way.
