Ten years after his untimely death, his former colleagues remember the exceptional singer, entertainer and jazz musician with a tribute that is both moving and exhilarating.
Roger Cicero brought the classic big band sound to the pop charts and captivated millions of listeners with intelligent lyrics, swinging arrangements and his unmistakable voice. Songs such as »Zieh' die Schuh' aus«, »Frauen regier'n die Welt« and »In diesem Moment« remain some of the great classics of his repertoire to this day.
With »Remembering Roger«, former members of his band return to the stage and, together with bandleader and arranger Lutz Krajenski, bring Roger Cicero’s musical world back to life. The focus is not only on his best-known hits, but also on musical treasures from the period before his breakthrough. Swing, soul, groove and the powerful big band sound come together in a concert evening full of memories, emotion and musical energy.
Berlin jazz singer Atrin Madani has been recruited for the vocal part – one of the most exciting representatives of Germany’s young jazz scene. With great respect for the original and a distinctive artistic voice of his own, he brings a fresh interpretation to Roger Cicero’s songs.
