Following a series of sold-out concerts in Germany, the UK and France, vocal project B O D I E S is now looking ahead to its next chapter. Led by Berlin-based artist and producer Kat Frankie, the eight-member a cappella ensemble continues to surprise, delight and move audiences to tears, earning standing ovations along the way. Kat Frankie’s music ranges from the most delicate moments to stormy, full-throttle intensity, delivered with an emotional power that only eight women singing together in harmony can create.
It would be easy to see music performed by eight female voices without instruments as a creative limitation. For Frankie, however, it has opened up far greater freedom: »There is so much to explore in harmony, voice and performance, and so many directions this show can take. Having become more interested in composition over the past few years, I am now returning to songs, telling stories and working with lyrics. And the show keeps growing: the staging, the choreography, all our stomping and movement continue to evolve. But ultimately, we are eight women on stage telling a story about community and collective endeavour. I think that is the real heart of the show.«
