Mahler and Mäkelä are an absolute dream team. This season at the Elbphilharmonie, we have the chance to hear them twice. As the newly appointed Music Director of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Mäkelä will demonstrate just how brilliant he is at the podium in a performance of Mahler’s poignant Ninth Symphony.
