The dance project FEIERN! is aimed at young people aged between 14 and 18, with or without dance experience, and with or without disabilities. In weekly rehearsals, the young people practise, improvise and choreograph under the guidance of dance practitioners Fernanda Ortiz, Sarah Lasaki and Teresa L. Rosenkrantz, developing a dance piece that will be performed in June 2027.
The weekly sessions are open to all – whether you’re just having a go, trying it out or hoping to end up on stage – everyone is welcome. On the theme of FEIERN!, we explore: What does a proper party look like and what does it need? What role does dance play in celebrating? What physical and emotional states does celebrating bring about? Is it possible to celebrate alone? How many people can celebrate together? Where do people celebrate? Can you celebrate together in different places? What are reasons to celebrate? Participants will experience how movement sequences are developed from their own movements and how these form a choreography.
