As the guitarist and »secret weapon« – as Pitchfork once described him – of the English rock band Radiohead, Ed O’Brien has become a global star since the mid-1980s and has had a decisive influence on the sound of alternative rock with his atmospheric guitar tones. The band’s career has long been crowned with success, having won six Grammy Awards, four Ivor Novello Awards, numerous other nominations and induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, leaving a musical legacy that is almost impossible to put into words. Since 2019, Ed O’Brien has also been focusing on his own music, initially releasing his first singles and a solo album under his pseudonym EOB. In May 2026, Ed O’Brien’s long-awaited second solo album, »Blue Morpho«, was released, further cementing the guitarist’s solo career. In October, he will present that album live on tour. The »An Evening With… Blue Morpho« tour will take him to Hamburg’s Laeiszhalle this year.
