In the Grand Hall of the Elbphilharmonie, Joshua Bell and the Academy of St Martin in the Fields will present a programme featuring works by Bruch and Brahms. Max Bruch’s Violin Concerto, one of the great jewels of the repertoire, has accompanied Bell since his early days. Together with the Academy, he performs it without a conductor – as a leader among equals, sustained by trust and artistic freedom. The second half of the concert features Johannes Brahms’ Second Symphony: a work full of warmth, lyrical beauty and symphonic radiance.

Hotel Baseler Hof
Hotel Baseler Hof on Esplanade is a privately-run, traditional, comfort-class hotel, situated between Planten un Blomen, the Hamburg State Opera and the Alster Lake. Jungfernstieg, City Hall and the downtown shopping arcades are all within easy walking distance on scenic paths.

Traditional Hotel Baseler Hof is over one hundred years old and privately-run. The hotel has over 168 rooms in different categories, the Kleinhuis`Restaurant and the Kleinhuis`Bistro & Weinhandel. Room rates include a three-day HVV travel card for all public transportation facilities, as well as use of the hotel sauna. Due to construction work, the fitness room is closed until the end of the year 2025. Unfortunately, pets are not allowed.
From December 1, 2025, to approximately April 30, 2026, modernization work will take place in part of the hotel and in the hotel lobby, which will therefore remain closed. Alternative lounge areas and a temporary bar will be available for guests; construction will take place only on weekdays between approximately 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to keep any disturbances to a minimum.

EGON HOTEL HAMBURG CITY
EGON HOTEL HAMBURG CITY is a modern city hotel in a convenient location close to the harbor, the Landungsbrücken, the Fish Market, the musical theaters, the Reeperbahn and the city center. Discover Hamburg by foot or with the help of public transportation – a bus stop and the rapid transit train station are right in front of the hotel.

The hotel´s 148 comfortable rooms are on two floors and feature shower bathrooms with natural daylight, a desk, flat screen television and wireless Internet access.

A large continental breakfast buffet is served in the restaurant; by previous arrangement EGON HOTEL HAMBURG CITY also prepares hot and cold lunch and/or dinner buffets for groups. The hotel lounge & bar is an inviting place for light hot or cold meals, a freshly tapped beer or a tasty cocktail. The front desk is manned 24 hours a day. The hotel also features two conference rooms filled with natural daylight for up to 40 guests.
Notice
In January/February March 2026, the hotel's reception area and restaurant will be undergoing renovation. The breakfast buffet will be served in an adjacent building. The reception will remain open. The bar will be closed during this time. Beverages (bottles) can be purchased at the reception.

The privately-operated, 3-star hotel has over 48 rooms, all equipped with shower bathrooms, hair dryer, radio, television with satellite reception, telephone and high-speed Internet access. In the 1930s the hotel restaurant and banquet room were appointed with part of the original furnishings from the Hamburg-Süd liner SS CAP POLONIO, hence conveying the charm and atmosphere of a historic luxury liner today.
