In the late 1990s, a dance and live club with the same name but French spelling opened in a former lost-and-found office under the Sternbrücke bridge - and played a major role in turning this intersection into a hub of Hamburg's nightlife.

In 2024, the Fundbureau had to leave its legendary home under the Sternbrücke and move to the Deichtorkasematten near the Deichtorhallen. The move was unavoidable due to the planned demolition of the old Sternbrücke. However, the new premises offer fresh opportunities: embedded in an up-and-coming cultural neighbourhood between the Art Mile and HafenCity, the Fundbureau will become part of a lively cultural network that combines art, music and an urban atmosphere.

In 2024, Clubkombinat Hamburg e.V. honoured the Hanseatic city's club and event scene for the 14th time. Fundbureau came out on top in the ‘Best New Club 2024’ category and won the coveted award.
