Gusti Leder

Gusti Leder in Hamburg's Schanzenviertel offers great genuine leather products at unbeatable prices.

High quality, reasonable prices

If you are looking for a high-quality, long-lasting bag or purse, you should definitely pay a visit to the small store of Gusti Leder in the Susannenstraße. Here you will find the finest leather goods, tanned with plant-based materials and lovingly handmade. Each piece is unique, as no two pieces of leather are exactly the same in shape and colour.

"We don't want to be biggest, but the best leather retailer."

With this motto Christian Pietsch from Rostock fulfilled a dream of his back in 2007, when he started his own company under the name "Kunst und Lederhandel Pietsch". In 2015 the company was renamed to " Gusti Leder ", in memory of Christian's favourite goat from his childhood. Christian and his employees have made it their business to sell only products made of sustainably produced leather, which consists of 90% Indian or Moroccan goatskin and is obtained from animals that are also used elsewhere in meat production. The travel bags, purses, cosmetic bags, etc. are partly manufactured by 12 family businesses in the Indian state of Rajasthan and in two factories in India and Italy. The products are sold online and in the branches in Hamburg, Rostock and Berlin.

CITY AREA PORTRAIT Sternschanze & Karoviertel

The two districts around Schanzenstraße and Schulterblatt are always in motion. Here, it is colourful and lively, and it has become much fancier in the last few years. Still, the district in the borough of Altona has preserved much of its rough, leftist-alternative nonconformism.
