Restaurant Schoppenhauer

Authentic

Wine and dine in the rustic eatery, housed in a historic timbered house right opposite Hamburg's Speicherstadt with tasty meals, choice wines or a glass of beer.

The Schoppenhauer Restaurant is located in one of the oldest buildings in Hamburg, right across from the Hamburg Speicherstadt, in a historic half-timbered building dating from 1633.

The rustic restaurant Schoppenhauer exists since 1983 and is managed by the new owner Jan Blümel and his team since November 2019. Jan Blümel is a trained chef and comes from Tafelspitz. After extensive renovation work in consideration of the protection of historical monuments, the Schoppenhauer offers modern but traditional German cuisine. The menu changes every 3 months to offer guests new experiences, but the classics, such as the best original Wiener Schnitzel or the traditional Hamburger Labskaus, are still available.

Enjoy the inimitable atmosphere of the Speicher: Even today you can still enjoy the 400-year-old thick oak beams on massive wooden supports with headbands.

The special thing: The Schoppenhauer restaurant is centrally located in Hamburg's old town, between the city center, Speicherstadt, Hafencity and Hamburg harbor.

On warm summer days the cosy terraces in front and behind the building also open up. From the front terrace you have a direct view of the world cultural heritage Speicherstadt and on the back terrace you can linger directly at the building with a delicious glass of wine and wonderful specialties.

Herzblut: A fitting name, meaning "lifeblood", since the people of St. Pauli have partying in their hearts. A cross between a club, restaurant and cocktail bar is the ideal starting point for a night of partying on the Reeperbahn.
