MS DOCKVILLE Festival
From August 14 to 15: Festival feeling in the hanseatic city
Music and art come together at the MS Dockville Festival. With its presentation of visual arts and musical line-up, the independent Dockville team will continue to set new standards for the ‘open-air festival’ format in 2026.
There is hardly any other place in Hamburg where steel, concrete and green treetops blend together as harmoniously as at MS Dockville. The festival for indie, pop, rap and electro fans in Wilhelmsburg has been attracting guests from all over Germany since 2007 with the finest industrial romance.
In the heart of the harbour
It's not just the festival's unique central, inner-city location with its great fusion of urban industrial charm and natural elements such as water (Elbe), green meadows and birch groves that creates a very unique festival feeling; a multi-faceted musical programme on over a dozen stages and venues is a supporting factor that brings together local and established artists as well as young and talented artists.
On 14 and 15 August 2026, MS Dockville will once again bring a diverse line-up to the Elbe island – including acts like BERQ, Noga Erez, Paris Paloma, Bibiza and many more. Against the backdrop of harbour cranes and glittering water, there is not only something to hear, but also something to see: There are sculptures and art installations to discover on the winding, wildly overgrown site, as well as lovingly furnished niches for dreaming, relaxing and chatting.
Recommendation against parking frustration
Neither we nor the organisers can recommend travelling to MS Dockville by car, as there are no parking spaces on site and the neighbours in Wilhelmsburg are not happy about thousands of extra metal boxes in their streets. Instead, we recommend travelling by S3 or S31 or even better, because the trains are guaranteed to be overcrowded at peak times, by bike. The route through the Old Elbe Tunnel should be avoided, however, as there may be queues and closures. The most beautiful cycle route leads from Hafencity over the Freihafen-Elbbrücke, from here it continues through Saalehafen and Veddeler Damm and along Klütjenfelder Straße to Reihersteig-Hauptdeich. From here, the street with the beautiful name "Bei der Wollkämmerei" leads directly to the festival site; bicycles can be parked free of charge on the Schlengendeich.
The MS Dockville festival site is probably one of the best places to enjoy Hamburg in summer! But beware: in rainy weather, the festival turns into a relaxed and good-humoured dance floor in the mud. So you should definitely pack your wellies if the weather forecast is favourable!
