Binnenalster Filmfest

September 2020

The floating cinema screen directly on the Binnenalster transforms the Jungfernstieg into an atmospheric open-air cinema every year at the beginning of September. Together with other visitors, enjoy great cinema under the open sky for four evenings in a row!

This is only available in Hamburg! A cinema screen that floats on the Binnenalster and in front of it numerous spectators who watch the programme spellbound. At the Binnenalster Filmfest, which is a cooperation between the City Management of Hamburg, Filmfest Hamburg and the Verein Lebendiger Jungfernstieg e.V., one film per evening is screened on four consecutive evenings during the first week of September each year. The programme begins at dusk at 20:30 hrs on the Alster landing stage at Jungfernstieg and is the ideal conclusion to a shopping tour. But the Binnealster Filmfest in Hamburg is also worth a visit as a cultural highlight in late summer.

As a highlight last year, the new season of the Hamburg State Opera was opened on Saturday evening with the production of Dmitri Shostakovich's "The Nose" by Karin Beier and broadcast live on the screen on the Inner Alster.

The entrance is free of charge.

Further information about the Binnenalster Film Festival 2020 and the programme will be available here soon.
