Welcome aboard the German Port Museum!
- Permanent Exhibition
Experience history up close at the German Port Museum: The "Port Seniors" tell stories of bygone times, while children get creative building wooden ships. A highlight is the guided tour on the majestic PEKING, which brings its story of the saltpeter trade and the "Flying P-Liners" to life – goosebumps guaranteed! Discover the show depot in Shed 50A with an exciting exhibition on historical port work and cargo handling. In this authentic location, you will learn more about a formative period in the port's history – the era of cargo handling up to the introduction of the container. Other maritime highlights include the SAATSEE floating cranes and the steam-powered barge IV, whose impressive steam technology will be demonstrated for the Hamburg Port Anniversary – a unique insight into the history of maritime technology.
There are further highlights for children: A maritime make-up station with glitter tattoos provides creative moments, and the climbing tower in the forecourt of Shed 50A invites children to climb the masts and enjoy the heights. An unforgettable experience for the whole family!
