On Sunday, September 28, 2025, Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier invites you to a Sunday shopping event on the occasion of FILMFEST HAMBURG. Between 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., various activities and offers will revolve around the theme of film.
From children's cinema to the history of popcorn: on September 28, cineastes will get their money's worth at Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier. In addition to the familiar shopping and dining options, visitors can look forward to special program items under the motto “Film Festival.” Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier is an official partner of FILMFEST HAMBURG, and Kinopolis HafenCity is also participating as a cinema, showing the films “Boy George,” “Zone 3,” and “Arrival.”
Exhibition on the history of film
From flickering images to silent and sound films to blockbusters – the history of film is fascinating and diverse. This exhibition at Überseeplatz presents highlights from film history and explains their significance.
Children's cinema for everyone
Children's films are something very special and shape childhood. At the children's cinema on Überseeboulevard next to the Adidas store, young and old alike can make themselves comfortable and relax and enjoy two classics. The Lion King will be shown at 1:30 p.m., followed by Finding Nemo at 3:20 p.m. There is also a separate seating area next door for parents to wait for their little ones.
Popcorn for in between
Popcorn and cinema simply belong together. That's why on Sunday, popcorn machines will be set up on Baltimore Street next to the Zara store, where anyone interested can pick up a bag.
Film music live on stage
With some songs, the first few seconds are enough to conjure up the corresponding film scene in your mind's eye. On stage in front of Thalia, violinist Chris Drave and the VIOPIACE trio will be playing various film music classics every half hour on Sunday from 1:30 p.m.
