The tour is led by Vincent (hamburg-lotse.de). He lived, loved, and worked in St. Pauli. And now he takes you on a journey through St. Pauli and a journey through time. Reeperbahn and Spielbudenplatz are included, as are Große Freiheit and many unknown corners. Stories and anecdotes about the sinful mile – what it was, what it is, and what it could become.
- Why is it called “AUF St. Pauli”?
- Is there really a swimming pool in the middle of the neighborhood?
- What does Kiez even mean?
- Where do clients sometimes get more for their money than expected?
- And what do seals and the French have to do with all this?
You'll find out. Between flashing blue lights and red lights; on the Reeperbahn at night at... well, at six.
As always with the Hamburg Guides, there's no blaring loudspeakers. Because St. Pauli is a residential area. It's impossible to tell or learn everything about St. Pauli in two hours. But whether you're a partygoer or theatergoer, a new resident or a guest of our city: you can and should know what unique terrain you're traveling on here. Hamburg's history is inextricably linked to that of St. Pauli.
A night in St. Pauli can offer many highlights. We offer the prelude. Our neighborhood prelude.
