Experience maritime tradition and seamanship. Come aboard our historic cargo sailing ship, the JOHANNA, launched in 1903. Sit back and enjoy the sweeping view of the Elbe – or get active: If wind and weather permit, we'll hoist the sails together! After leaving Glückstadt's outer harbor, the JOHANNE glides serenely through the water while you discover the small, green Elbe islands scattered throughout the river like hidden oases. Continuing up the Elbe, an imposing sight opens up on the starboard side: the mighty Airbus factory. The landscape slowly changes, and on the port side, the picturesque Elbe slopes of Blankenese appear – steep stairways wind through lush greenery, and magnificent villas sit enthroned on the hillsides. Arriving at the Seemannshöft pilot house, the JOHANNA crew sets course for the Köhlfleet, and shortly afterwards, you reach your home port of Finkenwerder.
