Film premiere with discussion: Unseen ADHD – The Female Variant
Why is ADHD often overlooked in women?
Many affected individuals struggle for years with inner restlessness, exhaustion, self-doubt, or anxiety, without knowing what really lies behind it. Often, when it comes to Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, it is predominantly thought of in terms of boys or men. In women, it can present differently: quieter, less noticeable, and thus harder to recognize. Many initially receive different diagnoses, such as depression or anxiety disorders.
This film follows women who have only learned later in life that they have ADHD. Openly and touchingly, they share their lives, their challenges, and their feelings. The documentary “Unseen ADHD” gives voice to the affected women and their families and shows how important timely help and understanding are. A moving film about being overlooked and finally understanding oneself.
