The French pianist and composer Sarah Coponat belongs to a new generation of artistic personalities who move effortlessly between classical music, improvisation and contemporary piano music. Trained at the Conservatoire National, she developed an unmistakable musical language at an early age, in which romantic soundscapes, evocative cinematic soundscapes and a virtuoso joy of playing merge to form a style all her own.
Sarah Coponat presents works from her new album »Lost Rhapsodies« for the first time. These previously unreleased compositions explore themes of memory, longing and new beginnings – poetic soundscapes brimming with intensity and a rich palette of colours. In the second part of the evening, Coponat revisits themes and motifs from her previous albums »Paris«, »Atlas« and »Demons«, developing them further through free improvisation. This makes every concert a unique experience: familiar musical ideas are reborn in the moment, changing shape and unfolding in ever-new facets.
