Safe Spaces gestalten - Roomdesign-Werkstatt; im Rahmen des Monat des Gedenkens Eimsbüttel 2025
- Workshops
Under National Socialism, not only Jews, but also communists, Roma, people with disabilities, those persecuted as antisocial and queer people were disenfranchised, deported and murdered.
That's why our events this year, as part of Eimsbüttel's anti-fascist month of remembrance, are dedicated to the often-forgotten fate of queer victims of Nazi persecution. Especially against the backdrop of increasing anti-queer attacks – including in Hamburg – remembering these people is more relevant than ever.
Queer spaces can never be taken for granted—they were fought for, made invisible, and must be reclaimed again and again. In this interactive workshop, we explore the question: How can we design safe spaces today?
In short presentations on queer spaces, we will learn how sanctuaries emerge and how they are designed today. Using examples of former meeting places for queer people in Hamburg-Eimsbüttel and current discourses, we will bring history and the present together.
We participate in the process! We discuss what we hear. And we give form to thoughts and ideas by painting, drawing, or creating collages. In this way, we design our own spatial concepts and creative projects and make queer spaces visible!
Who can participate: Anyone interested in the topic of "queer spaces" is welcome. You don't need any prior knowledge or experience in interior design.
We look forward to your curiosity and creativity!
