With the theme “Right to Act”, the respekt* Festival 2026 brings politics, art, music and young people together for three days in Hamburg’s Gängeviertel. Expect hands-on workshops, conversations with inspiring guests, concerts and plenty of space for your ideas.
We’ll enjoy music by FINNA and ZIMA, join Arne Semsrott in conversation, listen to Holocaust survivor and civil rights activist Marione Ingram, and ask former federal minister Wolfgang Schmidt how youth participation and our own political convictions connect to global politics. There will also be workshops featuring art, photography, video production and gaming, exploring topics such as antisemitism, protest culture and remembrance. We’ll host an open stage, throw a party and get caught up in great conversations over delicious food, soaking up the festival atmosphere.
You can get to know youth organisations and initiatives working for democracy in Hamburg, and exchange ideas with other young people from Hamburg, Georgia and Finland. Some of the workshops will take place in English or with English translation.
Plenty of good reasons to come to the Gängeviertel from 13 to 15 November!
respekt 2026 is a festival organised by AGfJ in Hamburg e.V. for young people aged 27 and under.
