In the event series "Out of Speechlessness," we will explore topics that are difficult to talk about together, using selected children's books.
Birte Müller (author and illustrator), the Dialoghaus Hamburg and the Bücherhallen Hamburg invite interested professionals from the field of child and youth education to the fourth event.
This time we're focusing on the topics of disability and inclusion. In her picture book "Planet Willi," Birte Müller uses expressive images and text to share the perspective of her son Willi, who has Down syndrome. During the event, the author will provide insights into the creation of the book and share her everyday experiences. Dialoghaus Hamburg will offer tips for overcoming barriers in everyday life and suggestions for inclusion. Afterwards, we'd like to engage in discussion. The event offers a safe space to discuss this difficult topic, share experiences, and ask questions.
The event is aimed at professionals from daycare centers, schools and cultural institutions.
