The Poiesis Quartet is the winner of the prestigious 2025 Banff International String Quartet Competition. The American ensemble is considered one of the most promising string quartets of its generation. Its artistic philosophy is reflected in its very name: in ancient Greek, »poiesis« means, roughly speaking, »to bring into being something that did not previously exist« – and thus embodies the ensemble’s ambition to combine the classical repertoire with new perspectives.
