Christopher Olesch (vibraphone), Erik Konertz (trombone)
The duo, which was founded in Bremen in 2020, plays pieces that stand out for their high degree of freedom.
With vibraphone and trombone, this rather unusual duo impresses with multi-faceted original compositions by the two musicians. In addition to groovy passages, the repertoire consists of free elements and contains a constant playfulness through playful ease.
Christopher Olesch vib., is a musician, composer, teacher and works as a cultural manager. The young vibraphone player studied in Berlin and Bremen with David Friedman and Florian Poser and is considered a promising vibraphone newcomer. Born in Oldenburg, he was a member of the Lower Saxony State Youth Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Bernhard Mergner, Sebastian Sternal and Jörg-Achim Keller, where he played with well-known soloists such as Niels Klein, Stefan Schultze, Klaus Heidenreich and Nils Wogram. He has won several awards at JugendJazzt at state and national level. He has been living and working in the Hanseatic City of Hamburg since 2022.
Erik Konertz trb., is one of the young up-and-coming jazz trombonists in Northern Germany. He studied trombone in Bremen with Ed Kröger, Ingo Lahme, Sebastian Hoffmann and Christof Lehan. Until 2022 he studied the Dr. Long jazz master at the HfMuT Hamburg with Nils Wogram, among others. For three years he was a member of the Landesjugendjazzorchester Hamburg under the direction of Lars Seniuk, who then also became his teacher and sponsor. He was also a member and soloist in
National Youth Jazz Orchestra (BuJazzO). In addition to his work with smaller formations, he plays in productions at the Theater Bremen, as well as being a permanent member or temporary assistant in various big bands, including the NDR Big Band or Jazzkombinat Hamburg.
