An evening filled with Beethoven and highlights: As part of the Martha Argerich Festival, an extraordinary ensemble of artists will gather at the Laeiszhalle for a celebration of chamber music.
The program opens with Ludwig van Beethoven’s Quintet in E-flat Major—a sparkling dialogue between piano and winds, performed by Lilya Zilberstein and members of the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra. After two virtuoso piano duets, Martha Argerich and Stephen Kovacevich build the tension with the explosive »Great Fugue,« reaching a first climax.
After the intermission, Beethoven’s lyrical side unfolds: Together with Maxim Vengerov, Argerich brings the famous »Spring Sonata« and the cheerfully radiant A Major Sonata to life in brilliant colors.
Virtuosity, depth, and musical highlights—an evening that celebrates not only Beethoven in all his facets.
