Antonio Vivaldi is now inextricably linked with »The Four Seasons«. In his day, however, the Venetian was also a star opera composer. With soprano Julia Lezhneva and the original sound specialists of Il Giardino Armonico, the emotional, highly theatrical opera world of the 18th century comes to life – a summer trip to Italy.

Since the beginning of her international career, the soprano with the clear, angelic voice has been working with Il Giardino Armonico and its co-founder and long-time director Giovanni Antonini. Their current programme adds a new chapter to their award-winning albums and acclaimed concerts.

Joseph Haydn is another musical universe to which Giovanni Antonini devotes himself: »I try to converse with Haydn, to talk to him, to listen to what he wants to tell me through his music.« The solo cantata »Arianna a Naxos« sensitively sets to music the feelings of the title heroine, who has been abandoned by her lover – here Julia Lezhneva can once again unfold the full power of her voice.
