“WULEWU – The Cheese, Wine and Baguette Concert!” – Music & Comedy

We’re celebrating Billstedt’s diversity – 130 nations call this area home. Artists will showcase the culture of their home countries in the Kultur Palast Foundation’s new event series, ‘Cultures of Our City!’. This time, the audience can look forward to a trip to France with the Ladies Ahoi – or rather: Les Deux Dames AHOIEUSES: Experience this lively duo live on stage. A journey through the ’60s, ’70s, ’80s and French classics – no prior knowledge required; Brigitte and Natalie, the “Ladies AHOI!”, have it all covered. The audience can look forward to chansons, classics and stories. The journey begins in a taxi to Paris (Felix de Luxe), taking us to the unrepentant Edith Piaf (Non rien de rien), to a Sunday in Avignon (Mireille Mathieu), straight to the beautiful Nathalie (Gilbert Becaud), who is sensually adored to the sound of the deluxe accordion. Francophile, exuberant joie de vivre, like a spicy ratatouille: Adamo, La Boum, Alexandra, Dalida, Daliah Lavi, Zaz, Voulez-Vous (ABBA) and many more accompany us on this Bon Voyage with an unmistakable German accent, a breathtaking mix of French and German. Between currywurst and cheeky, pop-style crêpes: delicious, thoroughly entertaining and a reunion with old and new hits from the land of the Eiffel Tower. Well then – Bienvenue!

An evening full of music, humour and stories that transcends boundaries – with plenty of soul, a touch of Paris and loads of deluxe accordion. The proverbial French art of living, ‘savoir vivre’, is also evident in the culinary delights: there’s authentic cheese, wine and baguette.

With the project “Cultures of Our City – Diversity on Stage”, the Kultur Palast Foundation is presenting a twelve-part series of events in the Billstedt district. The aim is to introduce different communities, showcase their culture and create spaces for people to come together. The project showcases the individual communities in a stage show, provides information about their traditions and highlights their art and cuisine, all with a view to fostering a future worth living in an urban area home to people from 130 nations. The project aims to promote social cohesion and raise awareness of cultural diversity. Visitors will enjoy a convivial time together and experience the individual communities in all their diversity within the neighbourhood, learn more about one another and get to know each other.

The project is funded by the Neighbourhood Fund of the Hamburg-Mitte district.

The Hamburg actress and singer Birgit Lünsmann joins forces with the Russian accordionist Natalie Böttcher – both over 50, both fully-fledged professionals, who have been performing as Ladies AHOI! with their hearts on the stage for the past 10 years. They tell stories, sing and play about life between the harbour edge and the Champs-Élysées, between Piaf and Low German, between depth and silliness. Both are an integral part of Hamburg’s cultural scene (Kammerspiele, Schmidt’s, Ohnsorg, accompanying Alfons (NDR), Jens Wawrzeck (Die Drei ???), Meiningen State Theatre, etc.) and are trained in accordion, singing and acting.
