Entrance Parade Hamburg
Sailing trip on the white three-masted schooner MINERVA, built in 1935
The crew warmly welcomes you aboard the MINERVA.
The arrival parade marks the start of this year's port anniversary water-based program. You'll be right in the middle of the parade of beautiful ships, gazing at the tens of thousands of people lining the banks of the Elbe. Enjoy a glass of sparkling wine while exploring the ship and finding a spot to relax. Perhaps with the captain at the helm on the bridge, with the deck crew handling the sheets, or simply enjoying a cup of coffee or a glass of freshly tapped beer on deck.
Enjoy the view of tall ships, traditional sailing vessels, steamships, cruise ships, and container ships, as well as Hamburg's beautiful skyline. Upon request to the crew, you can also climb into the bowsprit net or visit the engine room. The trip ends back in the Port of Hamburg.
The MINERVA was launched in 1935 at the C. Lühring shipyard in Brake/Hammelwarden (Germany) as a three-masted schooner named UWE URSULA. In 1959, she was sold to Hamburg and operated there as a motor vessel. After changing hands several times in Hamburg, she was sold to Dutch owners in 1987, restored to her original three-masted schooner configuration, and renamed MINERVA. The ship is 49.00 meters long and has a sail area of 600 square meters.
The Minerva is suitable for seniors and small children thanks to its standard staircases and high freeboard. Well-behaved dogs are allowed on board (must be kept on a leash).
