In a guided tour of the exhibition "Democracy on the Ground," Theresa Hertrich and Jan Krawczyk will provide insights into the exhibition and will be available for questions and discussions afterward. The exhibition "Democracy on the Ground" focuses on the personal memories of Hamburg residents from the GDR. At interactive listening stations, visitors can discover the stories of contemporary witnesses and their memories of places in the Hanseatic city. Topics such as freedom, arrival in a new society, and the challenges of experiencing dictatorship are addressed, offering space for reflection and dialogue. The exhibition was curated by Theresa Hertrich and Jan Krawczyk as part of the Public History program at the University of Hamburg.
